The Top Rated DJI Mavic Pro Drone Accessories

DJI Mavic Pro Drone
Reviews of the DJI Mavic Pro drone are everywhere. So, in this article, we focus on the top rated DJI Mavic Pro Drone accessories. We’ll feature a brief summary of each accessory, its current price on amazon, and the average review rating.

The DJI Mavic Pro Drone is one of the latest (and most popular) drones ever released by DJI. Need proof? An entire website is devoted to it at Mavic Pilots & conservative estimates have DJI selling around 416,000 drones in 2014…so one can only imagine the current numbers given that the Mavic is relatively affordable compared to prior models released by DJI.

Mavic pilots love the drone because of its range, reliability, portability (it folds down as small as a bottle of water), and its ability to record true 4K video. Very smooth and fully-stabilized footage is captured via the Mavic’s camera on a 3-axis gimbal. The Mavic Pro is available in 2 versions: Gray ($905) & Platinum ($1,099).

Let’s take a look at some essential accessories…

DJI Mavic Intelligent Flight Battery, Gray – 3,830mAh/11.4V

It’s simple. A drone can’t take off without a battery, so this is about as essential of an accessory as you can buy. In fact, we strongly suggest purchasing multiple batteries so you can keep your drone flying as-needed. The Gray DJI Mavic Intelligent Flight battery features:

  • Built-in sensors
  • Bright LEDs that indicate the status and remaining power of your battery
  • Price: $79.95 (as of this article)
  • An average Amazon review rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars

Here’s a YouTube video of a Mavic pilot testing this same battery and getting about 23 minutes of flight time – which is excellent:

  • Charge up to four Intelligent Flight Batteries at a time
  • Intelligent Flight Batteries are charged in sequence according to their power levels (the batteries are charged in sequence according to their power levels — from high to low)

DJI 8330 CP.PT.000578 Quick Release Folding Propellers For DJI Mavic Pro

DJI 8330 CP.PT.000578 Quick Release Folding Propellers for DJI Mavic Pro

Since the Mavic Pro can fit into some tight spaces, you never know when your propellers will take some abuse and need to be replaced. It’s always a good idea to have a spare set (or two), and the Mavic Pro’s propellers are a very affordable accessory. Keep in mind, with 4 rotors on the Mavic, you should always buy 2 sets of propellers. Their features are as follows:

  • 2 set of propellers: 2 clockwise & 2 counterclockwise
  • Folding Design
  • Quick Release Attachment
  • Smoother, Responsive and Quieter Flight
  • Higher tension, easy to install
  • Price: $24.99 (as of this article)
  • An average Amazon review rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars

Kepooman Hard Waterproof Case for Mavic Pro
Although the DJI Mavic Pro is ultra-portable, there are times when it will need the added protection of a great case for travel. The case needs to be one that protects and stores not only the drone, but all the accessories on which you’ve spent your hard-earned money. Neewer 4 Pieces Filter Kit for DJI Mavic Pro Drone Quadcopter

Neewer 4 Pieces Filter Kit for DJI Mavic Pro Drone Quadcopter

To make the Mavic a little more advanced when it comes to shooting photo and video, you’re going to want some filtering on your images and video from time to time. This allows you to take more control over the Mavic’s camera and adjust aperture, exposure time and sensor sensitivity settings to produce a shallower depth of field, or achieve a sharper photo. There are a multitude of image and video enhancements you can achieve with the right filter. The Neewer filters:

  • Are specifically designed for the DJI Mavic Pro
  • Reduce the amount of light reaching the film without affecting the color
  • ND4 reduces the exposure by 2-stops; ND8 reduces the exposure by 3-stops; ND16 reduces the exposure by 4-stops; ND32 reduces the exposure by 5-stops
  • Have a very light design (1.42 grams) to ensure the drone’s gimbal still operates smoothly
  • Are ideal for outdoor photography – allowing the drone’s camera to capture pro-quality motion images & videos

  1. Hi Jason,

Great post! I like the looks of the hard case from Kepooman. And I really like that it has super solid reviews on Amazon (5 stars!). That was going to be my first question, but you already covered it. It looks like it has a place for everything you could need. I’m kind of a case nerd when it comes to that. There’s nothing worse than getting a case (for anything, not just this example) and not having enough storage for everything because parts and cables just get lumped together. Then you can’t find anything and spend a bunch of time unwinding cables.
I know the article says it’s light, but I am still concerned about the weight. I see the dimensions, but I don’t see the weight. Can you tell me how heavy it is?

    • Hi Will, I really appreciate your comment and for taking the time to read. The Kepooman case is one of the best ones I’ve found for the Mavic. I actually own one – recently picked up the Mavic Pro Platinum along with the case. 🙂 (I really need to update my “about” page and add it as part of my aerial arsenal — I’ve just been too busy flying it ).

As for the weight of the case, it’s right around 4.5 pounds/2.04 kilos. So, it’s very light. With all of the Mavic equipment inside, I would say it only adds another 3-4 pounds. I’m also going to update the article as well to reflect this. Thanks again!

  2. Hello there! I just bought a dji mavic pro from my cousin because he’s not using it. I bought it for a good price and now I’m looking for some accessories that I could buy. These lists of accessories are great. I think I might get all of them. I needed extra battery, charging hub, foldable propellers and a case that will keep my drone safe. Thank you for sharing this and I found it very informative and helpful.

  3. I have been doing some research on drones. I don’t own a drone yet, but am seriously considering one. I just want to make sure that I am understanding correctly. In the video, you mentioned 23 minutes of flight time. If the DJI Mavic Intelligent Battery Charging Hub can charge 4 batteries at one time, you can literally fly this drone for about an hour (of course you have to change the batteries out)? I realize you have to buy extra batteries, but when you are spending quite a bit of money in the first place, you might as well be able to get maximum enjoyment out of it.

Very informative post, I appreciate you sharing. This will definitely help me in my drone search.
