SPORTS - Sidelines for Miami vs. Ohio State...CANES WIN!
We WIN! GO 'CANES!The Metrodome Roof Collapses
This is one of the best videos I've seen this year. EPIC fail! If Favre was caught under all of this, maybe...just maybe...he'd retire.
FOLLOW UP, 07/14/2011: It was re-inflated today!Hurricane Football: My Thoughts on Randy Shannon's Firing
I have been up most of the night. The "miami-hurricanes" list I created to follow everyone with any possible affiliation to The U on Twitter has been a'flutter about Randy Shannon's departure. Facebook's "The University of Miami", "The U" & "All Canes Campus Blog" pages have also had some (mostly) decent conversation about the man. I have tried to make my voice heard as well with who I'd like to see as the next head coach. So far, only a few takers are following my movement on twitter, but I hope there will be more:

We certainly had the talent...these are from Rusty Medearis's YouTube Channel:
Anita Marks (Sports Chick, sometimes co-host on the South Florida a.m. airwaves) and I had a few exchanges, and she agrees -- but only wonders if 4 years was enough (read the "tweet longer" stuff backwards). ...and nobody wanted to watch:
Canes attendance Saturday: 26,369. Smallest home crowd since Larry Coker's final home game (23,308) vs. BC on 11-23-06
Then, this morning, I woke up to finish this blog entry and Lamar Thomas chimed in with a farewell tweet to Shannon.
So...I'm everywhere & nowhere all at once with regard to the current state of "U" football. I feel numb. I watched, far from home, as we lost to a team that didn't even have a football team half the time Ex-Coach Shannon was the "D" Coordinator! Pathetic. Disgusting. Horrible. You choose the degradation of choice to describe losing to USF. I put it right there with Va. Tech losing to James Madison earlier in the year. It NEVER should have happened.
In summary, Gruden is the coach I want, and I don't care that we can't afford him...MAKE IT HAPPEN. Yeah, I'm drinking the Kook Aid because he won a Super Bowl, sue me. I want someone as head coach this time that has that "wow"-factor. Gruden has the fire -- and certainly the mean face -- needed to be a motivator of young men. He'd do just fine. Don't give me some crappy retread like Petrino, Schiano, or Richt. Regardless of what happens, I'll be there to watch it unfold...'CANE FOR LIFE!PS - 60 views in about 10 minutes... Thanks everyone!
